| About Me |
| |
| Since
the late 90's I began using my personality, music collection,
and mixing ability to give people the best dancefloor
experience possible. I am a dance music junkie who collects
most anything with a strong beat, a funky groove or
a catchy melody among others. I have a weakness for
Latin percussion (hence the "Señor
Tambor - Mr. Drum" tagline)
and collect a large variety of music genres, however
my concentration as of late has been in the House,
Trance and Latin dance music genres.
In 1997 I began mixing and scratching to Hip-Hop, Dancehall
and House on tapes and CD's before I knew I had a knack
for the trade and quickly began spending my allowance
on records and equipment which I still cherish. As a
mobile DJ first I learned the skill of reading a dancefloor
and the importance of getting the most out of your available
tools and music. First with a pair of legendary Technics
1200MKII players which are still by my side, and now
with top notch equipment I make the party happen all
around the East Coast and points beyond.
After 6+ years of playing at just about every nightspot
worth mentioning in the Delaware Tri-State area and
becoming heavily involved in club culture, I continue
to earn the attention of young and old all week around.
This is my job every night, I carefully pick tracks,
I blend them, I chop them, I drop them, and add some
FX for good measure... the result? Not-stop dancefloor
goodness... Just like the doctor prescribed.
Being bi-cultural, fluent in two languages and having
an open mind for all music makes me
one of the most versatile DJ's that you'll find, yet
my concentration in each genre's mixing style is very
serious (just
give it a listen!). I am a perfectionist and a stickler
about my work, whether it is as a DJ pulling through
a long night of non-stop mixing, or as a self-taught
designer producing my
own marketing materials. The fact that I like to
"diversify my portfolio" does not water me
down, actually, it has proven to make me that much more
valuable from my client's perspective.
Also worth noting is that my work starts with music,
but it ends with proper work ethic on and off the DJ
Booth, something often overlooked by young aspiring
artists and DJ's. Fans of my DJ sets enjoy my work not
only because of the music but because I'm an attitude
free individual..
Lately, with an industry full of new producers/remixers
popping up everywhere, its hard to stand out on your
own, however I am working hard to conquer those important
parts of the recording industry in coming years...
Whatever way you look at it, I am a DJ for the people
and in many cases by the people (thanks to all my supporters!).
The greatest joy in my work is to interact with those
around me and to see people sweating out their stress
on the dancefloor, forgetting about work and negativity,
and just loosening up to the music. At the end of the
night thats what truly counts to me... the number of
people you reached in a musical way.
May the drums be with you.
